Prospective parent calls the school and chats with admission director.
Parent comes to the school for a visit, on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday. They have a tour of the school, make a short classroom observation and finish up with the admission director. Our AllSchool Meeting (like an assembly, where students come together for singing, sharing of academic work and birthdays) is on Friday and this is often a lovely entry point. It starts at 8:30am.
Fill out application and turn it in with application fee. Get teacher feedback form started and submit records release form to current school.
When all the relevant material is in, Admission Office will call to schedule a screening with a Center School teacher and applicant. Screenings happen at the Center School and take approximately an hour. Children are assessed for developmental placement as well as academic skills and strengths.
Once the teacher recommendation form is in, the school records are in hand and the screening has been written up, the Admission Committee meets to make a decision.
Financial aid application, if applicable, should be submitted at the prospective parent’s earliest convenience. Please note that financial aid status is not part of the Admissions Committee’s decision-making.
