Summer Camp Teachers
Employment Classification: Seasonal (Summer)
Reports to: Director of Auxiliary and Summer Programs, Kara McColgan (k.mccolgan@centerschool.net)
Duration: During the weeks of July 8th - August 9th (minimum 1-week commitment, plus 1-day pre-camp training)
Schedule: Day shift 7:50-3:15, Monday to Friday
Compensation: $700 per 5-day week for Assistant Teachers, $800 per 5-day week for Lead Teachers
Description/Responsibilities: Center School Summer Camp staff are responsible for creating a nurturing, creative space for campers to come together and learn through play. Leaders are responsible for creating and implementing a curriculum, along with the camp director, to support and extend student creativity and growth. Camp leaders are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, supportive camp environment. Leaders will be supported by the camp director.
Maintaining quality communication with parents and guardians, and abiding by all Center School policies, is also required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to pass CORI and SORI checks
Prior experience working with children
Passion for creating a nurturing, child-centered, play-based classroom community
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in camps or in a classroom
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
First aid and CPR certification
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues
Understanding of the needs of children and teens
A passion for nature and naturalist studies

Teaching Interns for grades K-8
The Center School has a long-standing relationship with Antioch University’s Education Department. We take interns from their program almost every year.
