Outdoors, hands-on, hearts open

Avery and Naama, Tess and Mela, carried wonderful Center School banners that they made especially for our opening day celebration!

Dear Friends,

First-- thank you's all around to the board, PUC, staff, alumni and students who made the Center School's opening day such a success! We have had some excellent feedback on how the event felt and flowed. We'd never done a ribbon cutting before, but we figured it out and it turned out to be really quite moving. Now, we are excited to consolidate the hopes and dreams flags our community members made that day into beautiful bunting for the All School room.

I am so excited for the return to some long standing Center School traditions lost during the pandemic. Parent Coffees! Mountain Day (shhh...we think it might be later this week; it's a surprise for the students. More to come!)

Last, I just want to celebrate how busy and active our classes are! If you read on, you will see that 2-14 year olds are exploring, problem solving, analyzing, and collaborating with such joy and passion, while getting dirty, tired, and fulfilled in the process. This bulletin really does help their worlds come alive. And after reading this piece in the NYT

Roblox shutdown forces kids outdoors... I could not be more impressed or delighted.

Here's to full engagement at the Center School in autumn. Outdoors, hands-on, hearts open, we are in full swing!

Love,

Charlie Spencer
